CSSF is an initiative by the University of Skövde, Malmö University, Blekinge Institute of Technology, and Karlstad University.
We are in dialogue with the Knowledge Foundation to fund an initiative for games research with the aims of creating a direct benefit for the industry in tech, art, design, production and business, as well as in specific technologies such as AI and XR. Senior researchers and new doctoral students will work with companies to produce research that is relevant, timely of real benefit to them.
Game companies, large and small, will be able to investigate specific and complex issues, gaining access to knowledge and tools that can support development or studio building. Studios will get business-relevant education, increased networking and talent acquisition.
At this stage, we need to show that there is interest and support from companies in the industry. We need companies that say “this is a good idea, these are things that can actually be of real benefit”. We need companies that, regardless of whether you can imagine participating more actively later as a partner or not, can tick that you stand behind the following statement:
“I wholeheartedly support the investment in a center for games research presented above and believe that it has the potential to make a noticeable difference to the industry’s future development.”
